A vacation getaway with my neney

written by wites under health, Sweet, Cute, Try nyo to!, Gimik

Last week was very exhausting for me: deadlines to meet, bothersome clients, and my neney got sick. And you know how stressful it gets when someone gets sick Anyway, when my neney was recovering, she was advised that she needs to relax. And the best way to relax is to go on a vacation. So that’s exactly what we did.

Saturday came and we went straight heading to a private resort in Lucena, Quezon for an overnight vacation. Upon arriving at Lucena, we still had to take a boat to go to the resort. When we arrived there, we hurriedly unpacked our bags and went to dinner immediately. Dinner was really great; imagine fresh large prawns cooked only by steam, pinakbet, corn chowder with crab meat, sinigang na lapu-lapu and, of course, inihaw na liempo which was grilled to perfection. Muy delicioso!

After dinner, neney was really excited to go swimming. That’s when I found out that she doesn’t know how to swim. So I was giving her lessons on how to float which we dumbly called, “floating exercises”. *hehehe* Anyway, we had to do all that all night but was cut short because it was getting late.

The following day, we got out of bed early because neney’s dad wanted us to go around the farm jogging. We rented one of those golf carts (I don’t know what to call them) so that when someone got tired they could ride on it. Actually, it was fun driving one of those carts.

After that, neney was again asking me to go swimming because she was getting the hang of floating that night and wanted to do it by herself. After some encouragement and her perseverance to learn how to float, she started to float. Though she needed more practice to perfect the skill of floating, she’s doing great for an amatuer. Well, that’s my neney after all. She’s great on everything she does. *smiles*

Lunch came, and man, again it was feast to remember: pansit Lucban, inihaw na manok, chopsuey, cream of corn soup and linasing na hipon.

I really enjoyed that vacation and what makes it more enjoyable is that, I spent it with my neney and her family. I don’t know if we’re going to do it again soon, but the important thing is, we enjoyed and the memory that comes along with it will always be remembered.

Here are pictures that we took during our vacation.

new category: AW+

Well, Ali and I decided to call the category which will feature the love notes thingie AW+. We came up with about 8+ cheesy names after the passé ‘love notes’ start. There was ‘SYL (Show Your Love) notes and Imzadi‘ by Ali, then ‘I heart you notes‘ (hey don’t roll your eyes like that *lol*) by me, ‘Smile notes‘ and ‘Smile and Heart notes‘ both by Ali again. I suggested ‘How do I love thee?’ but Ali thought it doesn’t sound like a category. There were a few more names that slipped my mind. Anyway, we agreed on AW+. Notes from your significant other makes you say Awww, right? Well, except maybe for those notes asking you to do chores or maybe grocery list and stuff.

I normally write awww with 3 ws (see?). Some people write it with 4, or maybe 5. Others use like 18 ws. Well it’s really up to you. You can use a jillion ws if you want. AW+. Notes that make you say awww. *lol*

my birthday and my 23 gifts

written by wites under Sweet, Food & Drinks, Restaurants, Movies, kulets, Try nyo to!, Cute, Kung anu ano

a birthday to remember.

it was supposed to be just an “ordinary birthday day”. lunch at the office with colleagues. open my birthday gift and that’s it. but my neney thought otherwise. i was really surprised when my neney gave me 23 gifts. yes that’s right. 23 gifts that are special to me. it was memorable for me because neney really made an effort of wrapping all 23 gifts one by one. so the whole day i was opening gifts every 30 mins or less just to open them all. and the funny thing is that, everytime i opened one i instantly craved for another. hehehe. i really felt like a child that day.

now allow me enumerate ‘em all here.

  1. breakfast at deli france. crispy bacon and eggs = yum!
  2. wonka nerds — i’m just a sucker for this
  3. mead notebook — since college i was dying to get one
  4. staedtler pens — my lust for colorful pens
  5. aji ichiban haw flakes — reminds me of my childhood
  6. bench shorts — my everyday gear
  7. altoids peppermints — just curious
  8. bench greentea facial cleanser — i was just forced to use this. but i like it.
  9. addlife coq10 — my vitamins
  10. rittersport cappucino — my other vitamins. hehehe
  11. baskin & robbins candies — i like anything choco and mint
  12. old spice deodorant — my regimen
  13. ricola greentea swiss herb lozenges — as long as it’s greentea
  14. hersey’s kisses — my other vitamins. did i just say that?
  15. bench undershirt — everyday gear again.
  16. panoxyl acnegel — gotta rid of those pimples
  17. coldrock ice cream — more sweets.
  18. flipper toothbrush covers — they look cute
  19. c-lium fibre food supplement — keeping cholesterol levels low
  20. thomas nash long sleeves — sweet
  21. springfield shirt — nice
  22. memory box — i know i have to clean my room
  23. cute anime action figure — nobody touches it but me

but it doesn’t end there.

we ate dinner at the seafood club by red crab in greenbelt and watched “the departed” which starred by leonardo decaprio, matt damon and jack nicholson.

eating at the seafood club was really great. imagine eating a king crab cooked in butter and lots of garlic. wow! a very delicious gastronomic experience. okay, that’s enough now. my mouth is watery again. *smiles* i wish we could go back there.

My Birthday

you see, it was indeed a day to remember for me. thanks neneyful.

it’s our 8th!

written by wites under Restaurants, Food & Drinks, Sweet, Cute, Try nyo to!

wow time really flies that fast. last august 28 was our 8th monthsary. i know it sounds cliche but my neney and i dig this stuff (di ba ney?). though we don’t celebrate (meaning dine out and do stuff) this day of the month as often we want to, we always try to make this day special (i guess).

so we decided we dine at ucc (one of our favorite restaurants here in makati). during dinner, we talked about everything and anything underthesun. mostly about what are we going to do next or who’s gonna pay the bill. and occasionally dissing people coming in the restaurant. well maybe not occasionally, but every customer that comes in. isn’t that sweet? *lol* kidding aside, we really talked about how happy we are and hoped that everything would turn out fine for us. *sigh* i know it will be ney.

here are some of our photos…

what does it taste like?

written by wites under kulets, Cute, Try nyo to!, Kung anu ano

sometimes my neney never fails to amaze me. read on…

this afternoon, i was really craving for a liver spread sandwich. so i told my neney that it would be our merienda (snacks) for today. she agreed and off we went to the convenience store. when we came back, i gladly made her a sandwich. but what made her liver spread sandwich unique was that she added some mr. chips (a triangular-shaped premium-quality corn chips from URC) in between. all i did was scratched my head and smiled.

Smorgazborg

now the question is, what does it taste like?
